Fort Stewart is situated north of the adjacent city of Hinesville, Georgia. It is the home of the 3rd Infantry Division. Fort Stewart is the largest armor training base east of the Mississippi River its Hunter Army Airfield is the Army’s longest runway on the east coast. It also hosts several tenant units including 117th Air Control Squadron, 15th Air Support Operations Squadron, 188th Infantry Brigade 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.
